Warrior within
She is a fierce and brave warrior, who wears her battle scars proudly for they are the evidence of her splendor, endeavor and sacrifice. Her deep black eyes gleam with unparalleled kindness. No one knows her pain, her joys, her fear, her vulnerability, her guilt, her long dead dreams, for they are hidden skillfully behind her warm smile. She laughs carelessly, cries her heart out unapologetically and loves unconditionally. She is not a stranger but someone that lives within you and I, courageously fighting unceasing battles everyday, straining herself to the breaking point. We have different stories, different challenges but we keep fighting them. Yes, we indeed have a warrior within us.
The warrior needs to be pampered and cared for. Self care is the ultimate pleasure we can give ourselves. Devoting time to our happiness elates mind and reduces emotional stress to a great extent. So, take a deep breathe, keep stress at Bay and give 'the warrior within' heed it needs.
1. Pursue your hobbies
We all have hobbies we love to indulge in. Let it be reading, cooking, gardening, painting, photography or anything. Revisiting lost love for our hobbies will give satisfaction and break monotonous routine. Taking out little time from tight schedule for our hobbies can definitely be counted as self care.
2. Embracing your uniqueness
Social norms expects a lot from us. We may have different body shapes, skin color or type of hair. We all are unique and beautiful. Accepting and loving ourselves gives a boost to our personality and adds a bounce to our gait.
3. Inculcate healthy habits
Our body is God's miraculous creation, which comes with a user manual. It requires right nourishment and regular exercise. In turn it assures to stay in good working condition. No one can deny the significance of fit body, healthy mind and a glowing face. Health is rightly regarded as wealth.
4. Eradicate toxic people from our life
Instead of being a people pleaser, we should try for once to please ourselves. Cutting strings with people who threaten our peace of mind, might appear to be arduous but it is worth trying. A small but encouraging social group is what I advocate strongly.
5. Makeup or no makeup.
Don't let others opinion hamper your belief system. Wear makeup to enhance your features or avoid it completely and go natural, we are unique and so are our choices.
6. Pamper yourself
Yes, the warrior within needs pampering. Give yourself a spa, once in a while. Groove to your favorite music, swear when your heart can't take it anymore, get a body massage. There's no harm in innocently spoiling oneself.
Battles of life are unpredictable and so are the joys. Embrace whatever life throws at you and keep loving yourself or else time will slip like sand from our hands and we will keep fretting about things not worth fussing over.
